Jewel’s Events First Big Bash Was Full of Destruction!
Man, there’s nothing like the smell of gasoline and dirt to make you feel truly alive, amirite? I was so stoked to hear there was a demolition derby happening down at the racetrack behind Diamond Casino & Resort so I grabbed my fancy new press badge and jetted down(pardon the pun). Now, the demo derbies I’ve been to back home were put together by a couple of bored redneck teens and their papaws’ old Chevrolets. This was a new ballgame. Mechanics, EMS, police on stand by, Catering, and a raffle?! Absolutely top tier.

I’d pulled one off before, and it was a hit.We wanted to start with a bang! - Juliet Wolf
And they did. The duo took to the streets, literally asking around to see what the city was craving. When demolition derby came up, Julia knew exactly what that meant. Juliet Wolf and Jack Kosovic are co-owners of Jewel’s Events “Where every event is pristine.” Cars colliding. Engines screaming. Crowds roaring. It was the perfect opening statement: This events team is here to make noise. The operation of this event was nothing less than professional. Not surprising coming from people like these two. Jack is also co-owner of The Elegant Swan in Mirror Park as well as a landlord for several apartments at Tinsel and Eclipse. And since Juliet has owned an event planning business before this was all second nature to her. She is also a part of both the amazing TAC-Med and LSPD.

The derby was set off with Mexica Customs spraying each vehicle with its own kit. Hot pinks, lime green and sky blue sedans and trucks alike zipped down the track and sent dust flying as they plowed into each other and flew off the ramps and into the air. Each round ended when the last vehicle unflipped or exploded was still running and declared the winner of that particular round. Mexica Customs did a great job of quickly and efficiently cleaning the scene between each round. Which brings me to the other sponsor of the derby, Irie Eats! Wyatt and his crew had whipped up food for the drivers and staff alike to refresh themselves between the bouts of chaos. Its always great to see the Irie Eats family and what they bring to the city. For this event Irie provided their eats for the exhausted crews as well as the audience. All for free of course. Once all the dust had settled and the wreckage was cleared I asked how they felt their first event went. In their words?
Alot better than we thought! - Jack Kosovic
When asked about fave moments, everyone had something to say. From flying through the air, narrowly avoiding collision, and the entire Mexica team being wiped out by a tumbling LSPD truck. The mechanics are physically fine, but emotionally scarred for sure.
So what’s next for Jewel’s? They’ve certainly set a high standard for themselves but they did make it abundantly clear that they owe this success to the citizens who showed up. And they’re right! It probably would have been a lot less exciting if it was just Juliet and Jack in a couple of cars, kickin’ up dust. So big ups to you guys for turning out! It was a blast(again, pardon the pun) hanging out with everyone.
Jack and Juliet are hoping to host events every few weeks and down the pipeline? A triathlon, a snowball tournament, and whatever chaos you peeps of Los Santos throw at them. Businesses are highly encouraged to reach out for sponsorship opportunities. The team loves collaboration almost as much as they love flying car parts.
